Albert J. Sanata, of Brookfield, Ohio, entered into the loving arms of his beloved bride Ellen, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, following a period of declining health. He was 100.

Albert was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, on February 6, 1924, a son to Angelo and Margaret (Rotunno) Sanata.

Self was forgotten the day he left his home to defend our flag and to help keep our country free. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and achieved the rank of Gunner’s Mate Third Class. His decorations include: European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and WWII Victory Ribbon. He was honorably discharged from his duties.

Following his return home, he found employment as a crane operator at G.A.T.X., Masury, Ohio. He dedicated almost 40 years of service to the company before he retired.

Mr. Sanata was a member of the former St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury.

In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering for Notre Dame and breakfast at Yankee Kitchen. He was very family oriented who liked attending his grandchildren’s sporting events as well as socializing with his family. 

Survivors include: children, Christine E. (Thomas) Valimont, of Brookfield, and Mark A. (Rosanne) Sanata, of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren, Eric (Mary) Sanata, Jason (Kristen) Sanata, and Marcus (Kelsey) Sanata; great-grandchildren, Brennen, Mia, Talia, Kaia Ellen, Chloe, and Carter; brother, Harry Sanata, of Hubbard, Ohio; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by bride of 72 years, Ellen C. (Simone) Sanata, who he married November 3, 1951, she passed on January 21, 2024; siblings, Charles, William, Anthony, Lawrence Sanata, Rosemary Moses, & Marie Testani; and half-siblings, Peter Peluso, James Peluso, Joseph Peluso, & Victoria Donak.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family funeral was held on Friday, July 5, 2024. He was laid to rest next to his bride in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
