Betty Lynn

April 13, 1926 — December 31, 2015

Betty Jane Lynn, of Vienna, Ohio, began her new life on Thursday, December 31, 2015, following an extended illness in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio. She was 89.

Betty was born April 13, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Drayton Armstrong Martin & Margaret (Hite) Martin.

After graduating from Chaney High School in 1944, she fell in love with a man by the name of William Harley Lynn. This courtship led to marriage and they exchanged vows on January 28, 1947. Together they started a family and born to this union were six children: Janet, Bill Jr., James, Linda, Becky & Debbie.

Betty was a proud homemaker to her young family to which she was able to showcase her many talents like sewing, crafting, cooking & baking, as well as interior decorating. Betty retired from Packard Electric where she worked as an Assembler.

She was member of the International Union of Electrical Workers; and she volunteered at the Trumbull Mobile Meals and Hannah’s House, Vienna.

In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing cards, and shopping.

She is survived by: her children, Janet L. Barbarite (John), Monticello, New York, William H. Lynn, Jr. (Jeanne), Vienna, Becky J. Mang (Richard), Niles, Ohio, and  Debbie L. Moy, Vienna; her son-in-law, Robert Walters, Warren, Ohio; her eight grandchildren; and her 6 ½ great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Bill Sr., who died March 28, 1984; by her son, Donald James Lynn; by her daughter, Linda Sue Walters; by her brother, Donald Martin; and by her sisters, Alice Squeglia, Elaine Martin, & Marjorie Sefcik.

A private service will be held and she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Vienna Township Cemetery.
