Calogera "Carrie" Germadnik
February 28, 1922 — January 3, 2015
Calogera “Carrie” Germadnik, of Masury, Ohio, entered eternal rest at 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2015, while a patient in O’Brien’s Nursing Home, following a period of declining health. She was 92.
Carrie was born February 28, 1922, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Jerome & Bessie Amico.
She fell in love with Leo Germadnik and they exchanged vows on September 13, 1941. Together they started a family and to this union four children were born, Ron, Thomas, Rudy, and Marie.
Carrie was proud to be a homemaker to her family. She was a devout Catholic who belonged to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon, Pennsylvania. She had also belonged to the Slovenian Home, Farrell.
In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, gardening, and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Germadnik, Brookfield, Thomas Germadnik, Masury, & Marie Russo, W. Middlesex, PA; her five grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Leo, who passed August 1, 2009; by her son, Rudy Germadnik; and by her grandson, Ronald Germadnik.
A time of gathering to honor Carrie’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, from 10-12 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
