Carol Ann Batchelder, of Brookfield, Ohio, entered eternal rest at 9:30 AM Monday, August 17, 2020, while a patient of the Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, following a period of declining health. She was 89.
Carol was born on June 20, 1931, in Sidney, Ohio, a daughter to Marion C. and Allenna (Matlock) Campbell.
She graduated from Tecumseh High School, Springfield, Ohio, in 1949 and furthered her education by attending Bliss Business College.
A professional secretary for most of her working career, Carol showcased her skills at U.S. Steel, and EDS Packard - Computer Division. She had also worked for the former Valley View Department Store in her early years.
She was a proud member of the GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women's League; Warren Women's Voter Association; and Trumbull County Republican Party. In addition, she was a former member of the Masury United Methodist Church, where she was the organist; and Order of Eastern Star #518, Hartford, Ohio.
In her spare time, Carol enjoyed playing the piano & organ, dancing in her younger years, playing a round of golf in the Hubbard Golf League, and knocking down the pins while bowling at Sunset Lanes. Another favorite pastime was tending to her flowers.
Survivors include: her children, Jay Honel (Susan), Noelle Honel, both of Brookfield, Cynthia Honel-Mathews (Glen), of Masury, and Jennifer Faber (Donald), of Fort Myers, Florida; her grandchildren, Dana Hinchman (Brian), Johnny Henlen (Janelle), Bradley Henlen (Stephanie), Jessica Faber, Donald Faber (Chelsea), Alex Honel, and Amanda Borton (Tony); her great-grandchildren, Alex, Max, Joey, Johnny Jr., Abigail, and Antonio; and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Batchelder; former husband, Francis "Mick" Honel; granddaughter, Jaclyn Faber; and siblings, Vernon Campbell, Fran Campbell, Helen Bayes, Shirley Mae Campbell, and Colleen Campbell.
A time of gathering to honor Carol will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 4-6 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403.
As suggested by her family, memorial contributions can be made to the GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women’s League c/o the funeral home.
