Donald Eugene “DC” “Coke” “Kong” Chambers, Sr., of Farrell, Pennsylvania, entered the Celestial Lodge above as his sunset on Friday, December 27, 2024, following a brief illness. He was 71.
Donald’s sunrise was on April 14, 1953, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, as he was born a son to Allen Williams, Sr. and Anna Vera (Martin) Chambers.
He graduated from Farrell High school and furthered his education at the Butler Community College earning an associate degree in water treatment.
He worked as a meter reader and service technician for the Shenango Valley Water Company dedicating over 30 years to his vocation before retiring in 2004.
“DC” was a member of the Greater Pentecostal House of Prayer and Calumet Lodge #25 F.A.M. Prince Hall Affiliated, both in Farrell.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, hunting, and cheering for his Green Bay Packers. However, he loved spending time with his grandkids the most.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Sherry Ann (DeBerry) Chambers, whom he married 51 years ago on December 21, 1973; children, Donald (Uganda) Chambers, Jr., Misty (Michael) Talbert, Keturah (Ervin) Gains, and Jazmaine Chambers; granddaughters, Lakyse, Ma’Kee, Nahla, E’Naya, Terpri-Arre, Tahnya, R’Maya, Danyale, Christian, Marissa, and Brianna; grandsons, Brandon, Donald III, Tahvi, Tai'Jeire, Leonard, Deymar, Dorian, and Sincere; great-grandchildren, DaMyan, Brailyn, Dasere, Sa’Mya, Ta’Layah, Romelo, and Robert; siblings, Ronald (Leslie) Chambers, Alberta Chambers, Anna Rose Chambers, Rose Marie Gaddy, Gina Greene, Sherry (Troy) Venable, Douglas (Cheryl) Williams, Matthew (Toy) Williams, and Anita Webb; Godchildren, LaRona Lee, Rosita Allen, Kimberly Bacon, Shakira Bridges, Jazmyne Scott, Jeriel Harrison, and Antonio Robinson; in-laws, Letta (Robert) Harrison, Tammy (Willie Fred) Odem, and Monica Austin; as well as special mention, Tonya Polk, Loural Chambers, uncle, Douglas Williams, and mother, Shirley Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James Thomas Chambers & John Henry Chambers.
A time of gathering to honor Donald’s life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at the Greater Pentecostal House of Prayer, 725 Fruit Avenue, Farrell, Pennsylvania 16121. A Masonic Service and Home Going Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, by officiant, Bishop Joseph McNeal, and eulogist, Pastor Aunt Sandra M. Green. He will be laid to rest in Morefield Cemetery.
As suggested by his family, memorial contributions can be made payable to the Farrell Midget and Pee-Wee Football League c/o the funeral home.
