Donald “Don” Alan Hacker, of Hubbard, Ohio, formerly of Masury, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, following an apparent heart attack. He was 72.
Donald was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, on March 5, 1952, a son to Edward R. & Stella L. (Hibler) Hacker.
He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1970.
An electrician by trade, he worked for Sharon Steel, U.S. Can, and Ball Corp. before officially retiring. Furthermore, he was a self-proclaimed “Jack of all trades and master of none.”
Don was a Sensei Instructor with the United States Karate Federation, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, and played center on the former semi-pro football team in Sharon.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fast cars, tinkering in the garage, attending youth sports, coaching, and umpiring youth baseball. In addition, he was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He had a unique sense of humor and was known for his one-liners. However, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and willing to give the shirt off his back. He always did for others before he did for himself. He was that guy!
Survivors include: his children, Melissa Hacker, of Kent, Ohio, Melinda Kowalsky & her husband Bruce, of Liberty, Ohio, and Dan Hacker & his fiancée Samantha Morrow, of Masury; grandchildren, David & Sarah Hackett, Skylah & Michael Kowalsky, Chloe Begeot, Alanah, Breonah, & Danni Lynn Hacker, and one on the way; siblings, Joyce E. Page, of Coral Springs, Florida, Kenneth R. Hacker, of Pampanga, Philippines, and Edward "Ted" Hacker (Peggy), of Dayton, Ohio; and blood brother, Dave Maliner, of Brookfield, Ohio.
