Earl “Petie” J. Geiger, formerly of Masury, Ohio, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, while a patient at Caprice Health Care Center, North Lima, Ohio, following a period of declining health. He was 65.
Earl was born April 3, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to Charles F. & Norene E. (Powell) Geiger.
A 1976 graduate of Brookfield High School, he worked as a Bus Driver for the Mercer County Community Transit before retiring.
He was a member of the Brookfield Christian Church, where he played the organ and piano; as well as the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge # 495, Hubbard, Ohio.
In his spare time, Petie enjoyed making ice cream, and entertaining the residents at Elmwood Assisted Living with his piano.
He is survived by: his niece, Katheryn "Katie" Guthrie (John Mihokovich), of Warren, Ohio; aunts & uncles, Sis & Ron Hook, of Masury, JoAnn Powell, of Chicago, Illinois, Marlene Powell, of Masury, and Linda & Mike Maurice, of Hubbard; and his many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tammy L. Guthrie; and brother, Charles “Chuckie” L. Geiger.
A time of gathering in honor of Petie will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 1 to 2 PM, at the Brookfield Christian Church, located on the Historic Village Green at 434 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. His celebration continues with a memorial service at 2 PM in the church.
