Edward “Ed” L. Nacey, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 9, 2023, with his wife, Darlene, and daughter, Sharon, by his side. He was 81.

Edward was born May 17, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of Edward Mathew and Wilma Jean (Orndorff) Nacey.

Ed was a 1960 graduate of Hampton High School and worked as an Elevator Electrician for 38 years.

He was devoted to his loving wife, Darlene, whom he was married to for 34 years. Ed loved his home, off-shore fishing in Florida, cooking for family and friends making his signature marinara, shrimp scampi, garlic bagels, delicious mashed potatoes, and his lima bean soup.

Ed’s legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and everyone he’s touched throughout his life. Also, through his robust garlic patch that he tended to meticulously.

Ed is survived by his wife, Darlene (Vendemia) Nacey; daughter, Sharon Brusco, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Lance and Courtney Brusco; niece, Melanie Smith and her husband Chad, of Brookfield, nephew, Joseph Vendemia and his wife Antje, of Cleveland, and their children, Anthony and Brayden Smith, Felix, Luke, Ansel, and Emil Edward Vendemia, all whom he considered and loved as grandchildren; brother, Dave Nacey, of Alaska; niece, Mary Lynn Zock and family of Alaska, and nephew, Davy Nacey and family of Wyoming.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sons, Eddie and Danny; and a brother, Jed.

In accordance to his wishes, no calling hours or services were scheduled. A private gathering was held for his wife and family.
