Frank Rotunno, Jr.

October 30, 1946 — February 20, 2019

Frank A. Rotunno., Jr., of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away at 9:29 AM Wednesday, February 20, 2019, while a patient at Sharon Regional Hospital, Sharon, Pennsylvania, following a very brief illness. He was 72.

Frank was born on October 30, 1946, in Sharon, a son to Frank A. & Roselyn (Patrone) Rotunno, Sr.

A 1966 graduate of Brookfield High School, he furthered his education at Youngstown State University where he received an associate degree in applied science.

On August 9, 1969, he married the love of his life, Phyllis J. Pollack. Together they started a family and born to this union were two children, Christine and Frank III.

He supported his young family working for Sharon Steel as a clerk, dedicating 25 years of service to the company. Following his retirement, he worked at The Avalon Inn, Howland, Ohio.

In his spare time, he enjoyed doing yard work and walking at Buhl Park. In his younger years, he loved playing baseball, class AA league – Youngstown, Ohio. He actually went to a tryout for the Pittsburgh Pirates in hopes of landing a position as a pitcher. He was an avid Cleveland Brown's and Ohio State Buckeye’s fan too. In addition, he helped coach his son in youth baseball. However, spending time with his children meant the most to him.

Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis; his children, Christine Bowman (Jason), Boardman, Ohio, and Frank A. Rotunno, III, Sharon; his siblings, Ronald Rotunno, Masury, Ohio, and Nellie Holup (Robert), Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; and his nieces, Sharyn McGill, Amanda Cowan, and Anne Zavaglia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Louis Rotunno; and by his niece, Laurie Morrison.

Private services will be observed.
