Gary "Gar" Gibbs

Gary “Gar” Matthew Gibbs, of Vienna, Ohio, went home at 1:05 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018, as a result of natural causes, while at home following a sudden illness. He was 56.

Gary was born February 26, 1961, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to Robert S. & Grace (Bogden) Gibbs, Sr.

He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1979 and furthered his education by enrolling with the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, Pittsburgh, to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a Chef. The highlight of his career was when he was at The Columbus Club, Columbus, Ohio. However, most recently he cooked for Mr. D’s Catering, Brookfield, Ohio.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing.

He is survived by: his father, Robert Sr., and his fiancé, Lena Gabriele, Hubbard, Ohio; his mother, Grace Jeffco, and her husband, Gene, Vienna; his brothers, Robert S. Gibbs, Jr., and his wife, Barbara, Mecca, Ohio, Michael J. Gibbs, and his fiancé, Laurie, Girard, Ohio, and Christopher J. Gibbs, and his fiancé, Jennifer, N. Bloomfield, Ohio; his aunt, Elaine Palette, Vienna; and his extended family too.
