Harry "Hope" Mcandrew

April 29, 1933 — May 2, 2017

Harry “Hope” Patrick McAndrew, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed from this imperfect to that all perfect world at 9:00 pm Tuesday, May 2, 2017, while a patient in the Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, following an extended illness. He was 84.

Harry was born on April 29, 1933, in Locust Gap, Pennsylvania, a son to John Thomas & Regina (Walters) McAndrew.

He enlisted in the United States Army to defend our flag and to keep our country free. Following his honorable discharge, he found employment working as a Roofer for Local #71, Youngstown, Ohio.

In his spare time, Hope enjoyed metal scraping, gardening, watching TV, and gambling. However, he loved coaching baseball & softball the most.

He is survived by: his wife, Susan G. (Hollerman) Donner-McAndrew, whom he married September 20, 1975, children, Becky L. Reuff (Dan), Brookfield, Clifford O. McAndrew (Susan), Williamsfield, Ohio, and Anita L. McAndrew, Dale City, Virginia; step-children, Deb A. Rowe (Will), Masury, Ohio, John R. Donner, II (Wendy), Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Susan L. Honel (Jay), Brookfield, David A. Donner (Mary Heather), Lebanon, Ohio, and Jane E. Payton, Masury; twenty grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and siblings, Paul A. Winwood, Hubbard, Ohio, and Jean Marie Medio (Joe), Westmont, New Jersey.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and by his siblings, Thomas McAndrew, John "Jack" McAndrew, Peggy Beasley, Robert McAndrew, & Joe Winwood.

A time of gathering to honor Hope will be held from 4-7 PM Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. His celebration continues with a funeral service on Monday, May 8, 2017, at 11 AM in the Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, Ohio 44473.

As suggested by his family, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice House c/o the funeral home.
