Howard F. “Bud” Everett, Jr., of Vienna, Ohio, entered into the celestial lodge above at 4:55 AM Sunday, August 12, 2018, while a patient in the Emergency Room of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, following a very brief illness. He was 70.
Bud was born December 31, 1947, in Warren, a son to Howard F. & Janet (Scott) Everett, Sr.
A 1966 graduate of Mathews High School, he answered the call of our country as he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Self was forgotten the day that Bud left his home to defend our flag and help keep our country free. He achieved the rank of Specialist E-5 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), Expert (Rifle M-16), Expert (Pistol .45 Cal), 1st Class Gunner (M-60), Vietnam Campaign Medal with DVC 60, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 O/S Bars. He was honorably discharged from his duties on January 5, 1970.
Upon his return home, he continued his apprenticeship with the Operating Engineers Hall Local #66, Youngstown, Ohio. In addition, he mainly worked as a heavy equipment operator for A.P. O’Horo, Youngstown. He retired after 37 years in the trade.
Bud “occasionally” attended the Vienna United Methodist Church with his wife and children; was a Charter member of Copper Penny #778 F&AM, Vienna; a lifetime member of the Vienna VFW Post #3521; and an advisor for the Trumbull County 4-H.
In his spare time, he enjoyed doing yard work, coaching little league baseball when his son Justin was playing, going to horse races, and listening to Motown. However, spending quality time with his family meant the most to him.
Survivors include: his mother, Janet, Vienna; his bride of 51 years, Dianne (Baker) Everett, whom he married on March 18, 1967; his children who he was very proud of, Justin W. Everett (Danielle), and Monica L. Culp (Kent), all of Vienna; his grandchildren, Emily Adelman (Joey), Logan & Luke Culp, & Ebin Everett; his brother, Ron W. Everett (Roseann), Vienna; his brother-in-law, Tom Williams, Vienna; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and by his siblings, Sharon Williams and Leonard Everett.
A time of gathering to honor Bud’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 3-6 PM at the Vienna United Methodist Church, 9511 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, Ohio 44473. Both Military Honors and a Masonic Service will be rendered. His celebration continues with a memorial service at the church beginning at 6 PM.
As suggested by his family, memorial contributions can be made to the Hope Center, 1745 Niles-Cortland Rd., Suite 5, Warren, Ohio 44484.
