Jacqueline Jones

Jacqueline “Jackie” J. Jones of Brookfield, Ohio, entered eternal peace at 12:20 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014, at home while surrounded by her family, following an extended illness. She was 84.

Jackie was born in her Grandma’s home in Hubbard, Ohio on September 7, 1929, a daughter to James Vincent and Mary (Cross) Furillo.

A 1947 graduate of Hubbard High School, she married her love, Thomas Jones, Jr. on June 10, 1950 and together they started a family.

A very devoted wife and mother, she was proud to be a homemaker for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, making crafts, crocheting, taking care of her family, as well as gardening and canning.

Survivors include: her children, Charles L. Jones & his wife Patricia, Hubbard, Thomas M. Jones & his wife JoAnne, Arizona, and Vickie Jones-Neeson & her husband Justin, with whom she made her home; her brothers, Richard Furillo, Brookfield, and Robert Furillo, Richmond, VA; her grandson, Charles T. Jones; and her step-grandchildren, Abbie & Joseph Watson, and Timothy Wikoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband who passed November 13, 1993; and by her sister, Elizabeth Jane Coughenour.

A time of gathering will be held in Jackie’s honor on Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 10 to 12 PM in the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove Street, Brookfield. Her celebration continues in the church with a memorial service beginning at 12 PM. She will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery with her husband the love of her life.

As an expression of sympathy, her family requests that material contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44515 in her memory.
