Jean Pollander

Jean Pollander, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, while a patient at O’Brien’s Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, Ohio, following a period of declining health. She was 99.

Jean was born January 6, 1926, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Daniel and Myrtle (Phillabaum) Anthony.

She was a 1944 graduate of Hurst High School in Mount Pleasant.

Jean had worked in food service her entire career. She may be best remembered while cooking at the Yankee Lake Ballroom, Badger Meadows, Joseph Badger Schools, and the concessions at Sharon Speedway.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, especially flowers, antiques, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes football team & NASCAR races.

Survivors include: her daughter, Paula J. Pollander, of Brookfield; grandchildren, Brian (Dana) Gordon, Barb (Matt) Curley, Nikki Jervis (Dennis), & Darci Edwards; great-grandchildren, Zach (Jen), Raymond, Jake, Matthew, Andrew, Alana, Dylan, & Samantha (Dan); great-great-grandchildren, Addison & Charlotte; and longtime family friends, Debbie (Greg) Morocco, Ron Gordon & Jeanine Emery.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dallas Edwards & Paul Pollander; sons, Rick & Dennis Edwards; daughter, Karen Gordon; granddaughter, Debbie Maltby; and brother, Dan Anthony & his wife, Gerry.

A time of gathering to honor Mrs. Pollander will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 11-12 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM.
