Joann Mccauley

JoAnn McCauley, of Masury, Ohio, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio and Vallejo, California, went home on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 12:30 AM while a patient at the O’Brien Memorial Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was 79.

JoAnn was born in Youngstown, on July 31, 1939, a daughter to Fredrick L. & Vera G. (Jones) Taylor.

On July 9, 1957, she married Harold W. McCauley, Sr. and together they started a family. Born to this union were four children: Sara, Harold Jr., Chuck, and Janet.

She worked alongside her husband at the M&M Auto Body Shop that they ran in California.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, a good card game, savoring her favorite candy, and pleasing people with her generosity. However, she was affectionately known as the "Candy Lady".

Survivors include: her children, Sara J. Taylor, Hubbard, Ohio, Chuck E. McCauley, and Janet M. Glaske (Butch), all of Brookfield, Ohio; her grandchildren, Tabitha Majovsky (Craig), Bridgett Long, Richard Taylor, Jr. (Shana), Randa Jo McCauley, Jeneine Walker, Sara Bowen (Jason), Benji Glaske (Courtney), Lisa McCauley, & Stephen McCauley (Katie); her twenty great-grandchildren; her siblings, William L. Taylor (Ella), Hubbard, Richard Taylor (Lori), Boardman, Ohio, and Linda Oviatt, Southington, Ohio; and her extended family too.

A time of gathering to honor JoAnn will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019, from 5-7 PM in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, located in the historic district of the village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. She will be privately laid to rest with her husband in Forrest Lawn Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, who passed November 19, 1993; and by her son, Harold “Bubba” McCauley, Jr.
