John Andrew “Chopper” Czako, Sr., of Cortland, Ohio, passed from this world on Friday, January 15, 2016, at home following a sudden illness. He was 64.
John was born November 11, 1951 at home, in Cortland, a son to Alex & Helen (Pete) Czako, Sr.
Chopper graduated from Mathews High School in 1969 and married his high school sweetheart, the former Linda L. Reichart on November 22nd that same year.
A plumber by trade, he first started working for his father at Czako Plumbing Inc., Cortland. After 16 years, he took the same position for Mellott Construction. Lastly, he retired from Clark-Dietrich Industries in 2015 where he worked as a maintenance mechanic.
He enjoyed drag racing. However, he was best known for his ability to fix anything, a self-taught handyman, master of all trades; carpentry, plumbing, remodeling, construction, cement work, you name it – he could fix it!
Survivors include: his wife of 46 years, Linda; his son, Steve M. Czako & his wife Tracey, Farmdale, Ohio; his grandchildren, John "JT" Czako, Airman Basic Shannon Czako, Tyler Czako, Zachary Czako, & Logan Czako; and his brothers, Alex Czako Jr. & his wife Judy, Jasper, Alabama, Robert Czako & wife Kathy, Cortland, Frank Czako & his wife Linda, Columbus, Ohio, and Jim Czako, Girard, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his son, John A. Czako, Jr.
In accordance to his wishes, no services are to be held.
