Kenneth “Ruff” Miller, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, formerly of Farrell, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, after a short illness. He was 63.
Kenneth was born September 4, 1961, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to the late Elmer Miller, Sr. and Jeanie S. Miller-McCoy.
He graduated from Farrell High School in 1980 and continued his education at a culinary school in Mercer, Pennsylvania, fulfilling his dream of becoming a chef. Ken was a great cook and grill master, who by the way, also made the best peanut butter cookies.
During his early working career, he was employed at Penn-Dot in Mercer. Prior to his illness, American Rescue Workers in Williamsport is where he dedicated his skills.
He was a member of the American Rescue Workers Community Church, Williamsport, and would return home to visit his family church, Community Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Troy Hunter in Farrell.
Ken was a blessed, loved, and friendly soul, who would always help whoever he could. In addition, He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan!
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Althea Miller; daughters, Kenya Miller Mines (Johnny Mines), Chyna, and Kendra; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Valerie Shannonhouse, Vernell Shannonhouse, and Flora Miller Austin; brother, Rufus A. McCoy; brothers-in-law, Alphonzo Ike Miller and Robert C. Trudo, II; aunts, Mrs. Raymond Green and Mrs. Henry Bruce; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as special cousins, Angela Chavers and Standford Jones.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, his twin, Keith “Easy” Miller, and Elmer Miller, Jr; nephew, Sterling “Stew” Austin; and brother-in-law, Rueben Austin. There was a joyous reunion in paradise indeed!
His family will accept friends anytime at: 923 Fruit Avenue, Farrell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1013 Emerson Avenue, Farrell. A repass will follow at the Twin City Elks, 301 Staunton Street, Farrell.
