Masury
Larry Eugene Conyers, of Masury, Ohio, transitioned from this life Wednesday afternoon, March 6, 2024, while a patient at the Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness. He was 84.
Larry’s sunrise was October 26, 1939, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, as he was born a son to Oscar Eugene & Ruth Rebecca (Hubbard) Conyers.
He was a 1957 graduate from McKeesport High School in Pennsylvania and shortly thereafter, enlisted with the U.S. Air Force. While serving, he held the rank of Airman First Class and received the Good Conduct Medal and the 785th Aircraft Control and Warning Radar Squadron Medal. He was honorably discharged from his duties.
Larry returned home and fell in love with Nora P. Floyd, his wife of 58 years. They exchanged vows on May 16,1965.
He was a hard working man, who always looked to put his family first. He worked at National Castings, The Malibu Division, for 18 years and retired from Packard Electric after dedicating 20 years of service to the company. During those years, he also held part-time jobs at Montgomery Ward and JC Penney.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farrell, where he was a former trustee and sang in the choir.
In his spare time, Larry enjoyed watching sports, especially “his Steelers". In addition, he loved music, going to the Casino, and playing his lottery numbers. He also liked to exercise and tinker in the yard and garage, like dads do.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nora; children, Lorne Eugene (Ohnyema) Conyers and Nora Charese (Thyrin) Wright; grandchildren, Lorne Austen, Nadia Symone, Andrai Sampson, Jaden Marion, Nora McKenzie, Zytionna Barkley, Barry Toler, & Noah Strozier; great-grandchildren, Rain & Seven Toler; sisters, Patti (Daite) Wallace and Gail (Marvin) Ivey; as well as his many nieces and nephews.
