Marilyn Ann Martin, of Brookfield, Ohio, went home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, while a patient at the UPMC – Magee Woman’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, following a brief illness. She was 74.

Marilyn was born January 20, 1950, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter to Robert and Marjorie (Anderson) Knapp.

She graduated in 1968 from Warren G. Harding High School, Warren, Ohio, and furthered her education at ITT, Niles, Ohio, where she received an associate degree in accounting. 

On June 21, 1969, she married Michael R. Martin and together they had six sons.

She worked as an accounting clerk for Genmac Steel, now known as Geneva Liberty Steel, Youngstown, Ohio, for over 25 years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, gardening, and baking. She was known for her wedding cookies and her signature dessert were Buckeyes. However, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, gave her the most joy.

Survivors include: her sons, Mike (Kelly) Martin, of Brookfield, David (Betsy) Martin, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Sean (Jill) Martin, of Arcanum, Ohio, Matt (Michelle) Martin, of Syracuse, New York, Jason (Kathy) Martin, of Hermitage, and Ryan (Angela) Martin, of Niles, Ohio; grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Martin, Nathan (Lizzy) Martin, Leah (Wake) Wildman, Jacob (Katie) Martin, Sophia Martin, Josiah (Abigail) Martin, Stephanie Martin, Samuel Martin, Joel Martin, Sarah Martin, Jaron Martin, Joanna Martin, Peyton Martin, Britton Martin, Gatlin Reimond, Colten Martin, and Troy Martin; great-grandchildren, Joy, Charity, and Waylon Martin; as well as a brother, Bob Knapp, of Niles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike, who died November 8, 1996; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jadon, and Jamilia Martin; and siblings, Don and Dick Knapp.

A private service in Marilyn’s honor will be held for her family, officiated by Pastor Aaron Christy.
