Pamela Tara Grant, of Phoenix, Arizona, transitioned into her sunset on July 1, 2024, while a patient at Honor Health Deer Valley Medical Center, Phoenix. She was 54.
Pamela’s sunrise was on July 12, 1969, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, as she was born the “#1 Star” to Hasco Darden and Norene (Short) Holden.
She graduated in 1987 from John Muir High School in Pasadena, California and furthered her education by attending Pasadena City College.
She was working as a Senior Retirement Advisor for the State of Arizona. However, she started in administration at the Department of Economics.
Pamela was a member of One Step Further Ministries, Phoenix.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and writing. She published a novel entitled "Eyes That Bind" under her pen name, Viola N. Jakes. In addition, she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Survivors include: her mother, Norene Holden, of Sharon, Pennsylvania; father, Hasco Darden, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; husband, William John Russ, of Phoenix; sons, Josiah Micah Grant, (twin) David Mathias Grant, and (twin) Caleb Nathan Grant, all of Phoenix; siblings, Keegan DeMont Holden (Renee Williams), of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Larke` PaTrice Holden, of Sharon, Marlow Abrams (Kenneth), of Sharon, Demetrius Darden (Monica), of Miami, Florida, and Aaron Darden (Tamilla), of Farrell, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as a special friend, Kelly Bowman-Martin.
Preceding her in death are grandparents, Jake and Viola Short, Randolph and Tina Darden, and Dorothy Tharp; and great grandparents, Artimus and Della Stewart.
A time of gathering in honor of Pamela will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the Greater New & Living Way Temple of the Apostolic Faith, 840 Highland Rd., Sharon, Pennsylvania 16146. A Home Going Service will immediately follow at 10:00 AM, officiated by Bishop Alvin J. McCoy and eulogized by Pastor Tiffany Holden. She will be laid to rest in Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
