Ralph Robert “Uncle Bug” Calvin, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 while a patient in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, following an extended illness and a period of declining health. He was 73.
Ralph was born April 12, 1943, in Youngstown, a son to Donald George & Lucy Theresa (Leone) Calvin.
He graduated from Rayen High School in 1961 and worked as a truck driver for Nick Strimbu Inc., Brookfield, before retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #361, New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Ralph enjoyed doing yard work, riding dirt bikes, tinkering with cars, riding horses, campfires, putzing around on his tractor, eating popcorn most nights & drinking a beer. However, he most cherished spending time with family.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen JoAnn (Franklin) Calvin whom he married September 27, 1977; his children, Philip B. Rogers & his wife Dawn, Rhonda Lynn Calvin, and Linda M. Summerfield-Pachner & her husband Rob, all of Brookfield; his grandchildren, Grant & his wife Molly, Kaylee, Kai, & Raiden Rogers, and Amber & Joshua Summerfield; his sister, Donna Marie Massie, Struthers, Ohio; and his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; brother-in-law, Donald Massie.
