Rebecca Lynne Gosnell Fox, 62, of Vienna, Ohio, passed away quietly in her sleep Friday, February 16, 2024, while at her home.
She was born at home on November 21, 1961, in Fowler, Ohio, the first daughter of Ralph and Helen Ruth (Abplanalp) Gosnell. A spirited child, Rebecca grew up in Fowler and attended Corinth Christian Academy. After obtaining her GED, she attended Trumbull Business College.
Becky’s ability to foster relationships and her desire for new surroundings led her to reside in Wyoming, Nevada, Alaska, Texas, and South Dakota. Rebecca completed an Associate’s Degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling from Odessa Community College, Texas.
While living in South Dakota, Becky surrounded herself with her dearest loves of family, faith, and service to her community. She personally flourished in the laid-back lifestyle of her rural surroundings. This is something she had searched for her entire life and finally found in the wooded mountains near Mount Rushmore. She attended the University of South Dakota, working on her Bachelor’s in Alcohol and Drug counseling, while working at drug rehabilitation centers. She retired from New Dawn Center before returning to Vienna, along with her husband Jim. In retirement, Becky enjoyed online gaming, reading her bible, and attending online church services from her home church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Like her headstrong mother Ruth, Becky was a lover of coffee, home cooking, and homemade quilts.
Becky’s favorite bible verse is Philippians 4: 13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
She is survived by her husband, James Fox, whom she married September 12, 2015; children, Joshua (Anthony) Appleman, Hedda Gosnell, and Tyler Meeker; step-sons, Samuel Fox (Emma Engel) and Nathan Fox; as well as a brother, Ralph (Donna) Gosnell, II; and a sister, Robin (Rev. Thomas) Sullinger.
In addition to her parents, Ruth and Ralph, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rachelle Campbell-Wilkes.
A memorial gathering will be held in her honor on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 10:30-11:00 AM, in the Liberty Bible Church, located at 2111 Sodom-Hutchings Rd., NE, Vienna, Ohio 44473. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.
