Richard Paul McHenry, 84, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at 12:45 AM at home following a period of declining health.
He was born October 10, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of John and Bertha (Cummings) McHenry.
After attending South High School, he joined the United States Army Air Corps to defend our flag and to keep our country free. He was assigned as a Trust Trooper with the 351st Infantry stationed in Italy. Mr. McHenry was honorably discharged from his duties.
On March 20, 1961, he married the love of his life, Delores A. Pawlowicze, she passed away March 25, 2007.
Richard was a supervisor for Heckett Engineering, Youngstown, and retired in 1981. He was a licensed pilot who enjoyed flying. He loved traveling, old cars, going to car shows, and spending time with his children and grandkids. Richard will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors include: his daughters, Darlene Page (Randy), Cortland, Ohio, Charlene Huegel, Hubbard, Ohio, and Christine Morrison (Edward Jr.), Brookfield; his grandchildren, Tanja Alo, Tracie Alo, Kelly Errett (Rob), Courtney McFarland (Joe), Kim Kiser (Brad), Danielle & Joey Page; his great-grandsons, Luis Beltran, Robby Errett, Adam & Emery McFarland; his step-grandchildren and their families; and his sister, Marlene Gruver (Lloyd), Austintown, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife; by his sisters, Jean McHenry & Delores Hicks; by his brother, James McHenry; and by his son-in-law, Joseph Page.
Richard’s family wishes to thank Hospice, Senior Independence, Canfield, Ohio, for all of their support.
In accordance to his wishes, all services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the funeral home for a charity to be decided at a later date.
