Robert “Bob” Ray Manners, of Columbiana, Ohio, was welcomed in Heaven by his beloved Marilyn on Monday, July 1, 2024, following a period of declining health. He was 88.

He was born January 7, 1936, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of Paul T. and Ella E. (Swogger) Manners.

A 1954 graduate from Brookfield High School, Bob enlisted with the U.S. Navy to defend our flag and help keep our country free. He was assigned aboard the USS Northampton and was honorably discharged from his duties.

Following his return home, on October 25, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Marilyn J. Powell. Together they started a family and born to this union were 4 children: Pamela, Wendy, Linda, and Dale.

He supported his young family working at A & P Warehouse. He accepted a transfer to the Salem Store and relocated his family to Columbiana. Furthermore, he worked as the head custodian for the Columbiana Exempted Village School District before he officially retired.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbiana. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing, woodworking, building various things, sports of all kind, and playing golf. His favorite teams were the original Baltimore Colts and the Cleveland Cavs, on a good day. However, he was a proud father and humble grandpa, titles that he strongly believed in.

Survivors include: daughters, Pamela J. Day, Wendy S. Parry (Steve), and Linda K. Mulhall (Robert); son, Dale R. Manners (Melissa); grandsons, Nicholas J. Parry (Stefanie) and Joshuah R. Weikart (Courtney); great-grandchildren, Madison G. Parry, Colson M. Parry, Christian M. Weikart, and Mason W. Weikart; as well as a brother, Pete Manners (Marlene).

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Marilyn; and siblings, Paul "Moe" Manners, Don Manners, and Betty Justis.

A time of gathering in honor of Bob will be held on Sunday July 7, 2024, from 1-2 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 PM. He will be laid to rest next to his bride in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
