Robert W. Kneubehl, Sr., of Hubbard, Ohio, passed from this life at 9:15 pm Thursday, January 21, 2015, while a patient of the Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, following a brief period of declining health. He was 81.
Bob was born September 9, 1933, in Sudsbury Twp., Crawford County, Pennsylvania, a son to George & Clara (Carr) Kneubehl.
Self was forgotten the day that Bob left his home to fight for our freedom and defend our flag. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and following his honorable discharge, he found employment with various companies including General Fireproofing, Republic Rubber, Aeroquip, and GATX. He retired from Essrock, Bessemer, Pennsylvania where he worked as a Mill Operator.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Kneubehl & his wife Lori, Masury, Ohio, Robert Kneubehl, Jr. & his wife Cindy, New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Richard Kneubehl & his wife Trina, Masury; his six grandchildren, Alex, Dana, Kari, Joseph, Richard Jr., & Sean; and his brother, Edward Kneubehl, Florida.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, JoAnn (Howley) Kneubehl, whom he married July 3, 1953, she died May 24, 1985; his daughter, Linda Schied; & his grandsons, David & Michael Kneubehl.
A time of gathering to honor Bob will be held from 2-4 PM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Corner House Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Hubbard, Ohio 44425. His celebration continues with a service at 4 PM. He will be laid to rest next to his wife JoAnn in the church cemetery.
