Robert Lee Surratt

Robert Lee Surratt, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, transitioned into life eternal on Sunday, August 4, 2024, while at home and under hospice care, following an extended illness. He was 66.

Robert was born May 26, 1958, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, a son to Mason & Olivia (Smith) Surratt.

He graduated in 1974 from Kings Mountain High School and proudly enlisted with the U.S. Army. He was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, of the 18th Field Artillery. His decorations and citations include: Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Expert Marksman with the M-16 Rifle. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Corporal.

He worked as a custodian for Sharon Regional Hospital before retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to the company. 

Robert attended Redeemed Sanctuary Church in Sharon. In his spare time, he enjoyed drinking, fishing, BBQ, camping, and hanging with Greg, not necessarily in that order.

He is survived by: his bride, Eddie Mae (Jones) Surratt, whom he married June 6, 2015; son, Kenyattis Surratt; daughters, Erica Surratt, Erin Surratt, Tiffany Surratt, Arielle Surratt, Adrianna Surratt, and Shaniqua Degree; step-children, Charlene Norris, Gloria Jean Mott (John), Rochell B. White (James), and Sonji Q. Jackson (Michael); 5 grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Surratt, Isaac Surratt, & Richard Surratt (Rose); sisters, Barbara Jones (Kenneth) & Elizabeth Floyd (Sammy); and his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Randolph Gambill; step-daughters, Lisa Smith & Laura Sanders; and siblings, Jimmy Surratt & Christine Bridges. 

A time of gathering in honor of Robert will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 11-12 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. His celebration continues with a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
