Robert “Pops” E. Kroner, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at home following an apparent heart attack. He was 63.
Robert was born in Youngstown on August 17, 1955, a son to Richard “Pappy” W. & Mae (Jackson) Kroner, Sr.
A 1974 graduate of Brookfield High School, he found work as a welder with G.A.T.X., Masury, Ohio. After the plant closed, he worked for a variety of companies throughout the valley.
In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting pool with the local A.P.A. Pool League. However, spending time with his family and friends meant the most to him.
He is survived by his mother Mae, Brookfield, Ohio; his son, Craig R. Kroner & his wife JamieMarie, Brookfield; his brothers, Richard W. Kroner, Jr. & his wife Francine, Brookfield, Randy M. Kroner & his wife Jo Anne, Transfer, Pennsylvania, Roger A. Kroner, Brookfield, and Ronald E. Kroner, Sr. & his wife Virginia "Ginny", Brookfield; his many nieces and nephews; and his service dog, Master Splinter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; and his son, James Kroner.
A time of Gathering will be held in Robert’s honor on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 5-7 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield. He will be laid to rest with his family in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
