Ronald “Ric” A. Bowser, of Masury, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 21, 2019, while in the presence of his loving wife and daughters as a patient at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley, Boardman, Ohio, following an extended illness. He was 71.
Ric was born June 28, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduated from Rayen High School in 1966. A short time later, he met a gal by the name of Bethany L. Allen at Geneva-on-the-Lake. They fell in love and exchanged vows on November 27, 1971. Born to this union were three daughters, Alanea, Janine and Paige.
He supported his young family working at the former Youngstown Sheet & Tube where he became a journeyman machinist. His vocation landed him opportunities with other companies such as Copperweld Steel, CSC Inc. and lastly Thomas Steel, where he retired as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of Jerusalem Lodge #19, F&AM, Hartford, Ohio.
A motorcycle enthusiast, he also enjoyed Ohio State Buckeye Football and tailgating, Formula One Racing and Scottish Highland Games. He was known for his BBQ, sipping Wild Turkey 101 and watching a storm roll in across Lake Erie. What he loved more than anything was spending time with his family and being called ‘Poppy’ by his adoring grandchildren.
His survivors include: wife, Beth; daughters, Alanea "Lanee" Tanferi & her husband Shawn, Plain City, Ohio, Janine, who he fondly called “Spike" Koss & her husband Lance, and Paige Sample, all of Cortland, Ohio, grandchildren, Maryn & Max Tanferi, Piper, Presley, & Payton Koss, Sadie, Gunner, & Scarlett Sample; half-brother, Frank A. Natale, Jr., Youngstown; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank “Chico” and Naomi Ruth Natale.
