Samuel Serrian

January 23, 1921 — March 11, 2016

Samuel Serrian, of Liberty Twp., Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, while a patient in Vibra Hospital of the Mahoning Valley, Trumbull Campus, Warren, Ohio, following a brief illness. He was 95.

Sam was born January 23, 1921 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a son to Tony & Mary C. (White) Serrian.

He graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1940 where he lettered in both football and basketball.

A welder by trade, he worked for Westinghouse Electric, Sharon, Pennsylvania, for more than 30 years before retiring.

Sam was an avid golfer, playing the sport as often as he could up until the age of 93. In addition, he loved spending time at Lake Erie fishing.

Survivors include: his wife of 39 years, Stella D. (Biga) Serrian; his step-daughter, Kathy Reiser & her husband Gary, Brookfield, Ohio; his grandchildren, Michael & Meghan; and his niece, Debbie Micaletti & her husband Donnie, Brookfield, and their children, Danny, David, & Jill.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne.

A memorial service to celebrate Sam’s life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 6 PM in Briceland Funeral Service, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403.
