Sandra "Sandy" Kovach

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Sandra “Sandy” Kovach, 84, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sandy, originally of Masury, Ohio, was born in 1940, a daughter to Frank and Helen Cimperman.

She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1958. Following graduation, she worked at Westinghouse Electric. She later met and married Milan Kovach. Together, they moved to Germany and later to Texas during his military career. They settled in Copperas Cove, Texas, where they raised their son, Chris. In 2019, she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be with her son and family.

Sandy was employed as a supervisor for the Department of Defense and Department of Army at Fort Hood in Texas, a division of the Defense Finance and Accounting Office, until her retirement in 2006, following 25 years of service.

Sandy’s hobbies included gardening, embroidery, and antiquing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and was an avid reader. She will be remembered for her generosity, strength, and sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milan Kovach; her father, Frank Cimperman; her mother, Helen Cimperman; her sisters-in-law, Mary (Kovach) Lewis and Rose Cimperman; brother-in-law, Jack Lewis; and nephew, David Lewis.

Her survivors include: son, Chris Kovach (Kathy); grandchildren, Devin, Aidan, and Katelyn Kovach; brother, Richard Cimperman; nieces, Debi Benson (Jeff) and Dana Mojica; and nephew, Brian Cimperman (Jill).

A viewing will be held at the Brookfield Township Cemetery Chapel, from 11:00-11:15 AM, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, with services to immediately follow.
