Tammy Guthrie

Tammy L. Guthrie, of Masury, Ohio, passed from this life at 5:07 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015, while a patient in the Sharon Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. She was 53.

Tammy was born May 29, 1961, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Charles F. & Norene E. (Powell) Geiger.

A 1979 graduate of Brookfield High School, she worked as a store clerk for the former Hills Department Store, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

She had attended the Brookfield Christian Church and in her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint and making cheesecake. She especially loved her Diet Coke.

She is survived by: her daughter, Kathryn Ann “Katie” Guthrie; her father, Charles; her brothers, Earl J. “Petie” Geiger and Charles L. “Chuck” Geiger, all of Masury, Ohio; her aunt & uncle, Ron & Sis Hook; her aunts, JoAnn Powell and Marlene Powell; her best friends, Lisa Vyner & Kim Yarabenets; and her extended family too.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A time of gathering in honor of Tammy will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015, from 5 to 8 PM, in the Brookfield Christian Church, on the Historic Village Green of Brookfield Center. Her celebration continues with a service on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 11 AM in the church. She will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
