Theresa "Tee Dee" Harris

November 2, 1930 — July 3, 2017

Theresa “Tee Dee” Margaret Harris of Howland Twp., Ohio, gracefully passed from this life and into the loving arms of her beloved husband “Duke” on Monday, July 3, 2017, while at home, following a brief period of declining health. She was 86.

Theresa was born at home in Brookfield, Ohio, on November 2, 1930, a daughter to Frank & Sarah (Stevens) Burns.

A 1948 graduate from Brookfield High School, Theresa furthered her education by achieving the status of "professional nurse" by graduating from the school of nursing at Spenser Hospital of Meadville, Pa. in 1953, where the standard was nothing short of excellence. As a certified Registered Nurse, she worked private duty and for St. Joseph’s Hospital of Warren, Ohio for over 50 dedicated years to her profession.

She married Melvin “Duke” R.  Harris on June 25, 1955, and together they would spend the next 58 years together side by side, holding hands until he passed on September 8, 2013.

She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Vienna, Ohio.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, ceramics, camping & fishing, and traveling with her family in the Winnebago on vacations across both the United States and Canada.

Survivors include: her children, Melvin R. "Bob" Harris, Jr., Howland Twp.; and Theresa Ann Riccadonna & her husband Ron, Masury, Ohio; her five grandsons, Ronnie & Mark Riccadonna, Ryan & Kyle Harris, & Francis Miekeley-Harris; her three great-grandsons, Ryker, Axel, & Duke; and her siblings, Pete Burns, Vienna, Tom Burns, Vernon Twp., Ohio, Joanne Wimer, Howland Twp., and Faithanne Santell, Masury.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Duke; and by her siblings, Francis, John, & Joseph Burns, Sarah Baker, Mary Ritch, and Jane Crepage.

A time of gathering in honor of Theresa will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017, from 7-9:30 PM in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield. Her celebration continues with a funeral service on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
